CBN Open Or ITF Circuit: Oyinlomo Reveals Which Is Easier To Win

Nigeria’s highest ranked player on the junior tennis circuit, Oyinlomo Quadre, has revealed which is an easier tournament between the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Senior tennis Open and the Junior ITF Circuits.

In an exclusive chat with Nigeria Tennis Live, Quadre who turns 16 this year, noted that she lost in the first round of the CBN Open the first time she played the competition.

The player ranked 173 in the world informed that even though it was difficult for her to win the Grade 3 ITF Circuit a few months ago, it may be more difficult to win the national tournament which kicks off today at the National Stadium, Abuja.

On whether or not she can win the competition, Quadre said: “I think I can (win) but I will have to put 100% effort in to it and the rest will come after.”

The youngster is among the four given wildcards to play in the Women’s Singles of the competition which will feature some of Nigeria’s finest tennis players.

And she believes she can go all the way even though it may not be that easy.

“The one and only time I played the CBN, I lost in the first round to Melissa so yes I can’t say it’s easy,” the number 2 African junior player enthused.

Action will commence at the CBN Open this morning and Nigeria Tennis Live will be publishing daily updates from the tournament.
