Mr. Yemi Owoseni, the first Vice President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), has been re-elected as the Vice President of the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) West Africa Zone 2.

His re-election was confirmed during a voting process in Madagascar on Saturday, where the CAT Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held.

Presidents were also elected during the meeting, but the NTF President, Engr. ‘Dayo Akindoju informed Nigeria Tennis Live from Antananarivo that Nigeria did not contest the post.

Owoseni’s re-election will be seen as a good development for tennis in West Africa where Nigeria is one of the firepowers, especially in the junior cadre of the racquet sport.

The Nigerian contingent to the meeting which included former NTF President Sani Ndanusa and NTF Secretary General, Mrs. Mariam Akande, is expected back to the country on Sunday.

Nigerians will also be waiting for an update on the junior ITF Circuit which the federation has assured will be kicking off in earnest.
