Oyinlomo Quadre was Nigeria’s brightest star at the ongoing African Games in Morocco, as she put up an outstanding performance to defeat Kenya’s Judith Muraa in two straight sets.

The Nigerian number three youngster wasted no time in outsmarting the 20-year-old Kenya in a game that ended 6-1, 6-1 to the admiration of tennis fans inside the court three arena where the match took place.

While Quadre was having a good time on the court, her other Nigerian counterparts were not so lucky, as Sylvester Emmanuel lost his first game since the commencement of the competition, to Egypt’s Maamoun Mohamed in two straight sets.

The Egpytian whitewashed the Nigerian number one tennis star in a 6-0, 6-1 game to continue an unbeaten streak at the tournament which includes not having dropped a single set after three games.

Sylvester was not the only unlucky Nigerian player at the competition, US-based Adesuwa Osabuohien was also quite unlucky in her match in spite of the fight she put up against Celestine Avomo, the Gabonese player who got the better of her in a 2-1 game.

The Nigerian players will have to dig deep to prove their mettle against their African counterparts as the Game nears its business end.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep monitoring the players’ performances in Rabat, Morocco and report the latest stories to our teeming readers.
