The Nigerian tennis team to the ongoing African Games in Rabat, Morocco, have proven to be too tough for their opponents as the results trickling in have proven.

After wins by Sylvester Emmanuel and Emmanuel Sunday, other players have justified their places in the tournament with their superlative performances.

Nigeria’s number two male player, Joseph Imeh and Oyinlomo Quadre posted amazing results during their matches on Saturday afternoon, and are cruising afterwards.

While Imeh shocked Mali’s Abdoulaye Bagayoko with a 6-1, 6-1 win in two straight sets, Quadre was too strong for Fudia Kargbo from Sierra Leone, winning 6-0, 6-1 to move to the next round of the competition.

US-based Adesuwa Osabuohien was no match for Kenya’s Faith Omurunga whom she crushed in two straight sets of 6-2, 6-0 to move closer to the medals zone.

Anu Aiyegbusi and Blessing Samuel, Nigeria’s number one female player, were not so lucky in their matches as they both lost in two straight sets.

The Nigerian stars are now delicately poised to reach the next phase of the Games with their performances and are looking to better their last appearance at the tournament.

Nigeria Tennis Live will keep monitoring their performance in Morocco, and report to our teeming followers and readers.
