Samuel Omoile, one of Nigeria’s tennis stars in Dubai, UAE, has set up a tennis academy to discover fresh tennis talents for the Nigerian tennis circuit.

The former national player who has been in Dubai for some years now, established the foundation named Samuel Omoile Tennis Academy (SOTA), due to his burning passion for the development of tennis in Nigeria.

Nigeria Tennis Live gathered that even though the player who has been coaching some kids in the United Arab Emirates does not have enough resources to get the Academy running, he believes that the support of some of his friends can make things work.

He has therefore decided to host a junior tennis championship in Lagos in December, as a means of discovering fresh talents for the game of tennis in Nigeria.

According to information made available to Nigerian Tennis Live, the SOTA Junior Tennis Championship will hold at the tennis section of the National Stadium, Surulere, from 17-22 December.

The tournament is also organized for boys and girls in the Under-12 and 14 categories just as the entry deadline has been set as 15 December.

“Feeding and accommodation will be provided by SOTA all through the tournament for players and coaches living outside Lagos; lunch will be available for players within Lagos,” the organizers informed.
