For the umpteenth time at the ITF age-grade circuit in Togo, Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadri will be playing against Yasmin Ezzat, her Egyptian nemesis to seek a berth in the semis of the ongoing ITF U-18 Junior Circuit.

Nigerian Tennis Live recalls that Oyinlomo defeated the tough Egyptian in the final of the Ghana leg of the competition, but could not withstand her firepower in the second leg, losing to Ezzat in two straight sets.

The young Egyptian would later win the Singles event and partner Oyinlomo to lose in the final of the Doubles event.

Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadri will seek to get one past her familiar foe when they spar today.

With the draws for this week, the young Nigerian starlet who dismissed India’s Ruju Chauan in two quick sets on Wednesday, will now tackle her newly found competitor who is ranked just above her (Oyinlomo is the number five while Ezzat is the number four seed).

The Nigerian player will fancy her chances of causing an upset this week, however, as she has been in blistering form with the manner she has been defeating her opponent as against Ezzat’s performance which has not been totally convincing.

In the boys’ category, the pair of Abayomi Phillips and Matthew Abamu were not so lucky against their opponents, but they gave a good account of themselves and did not cave in under pressure.

Nigerian Tennis Live will keep monitoring the activities of the youngster in Togo as she seeks to return to the apex of world junior tennis after suffering initial defeat.
