Two budding Nigerian tennis sensations, Oiza Yakubu and Gabriel Inyang, will be among the juniors to compete at the ongoing National Youth Games in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Nigerian Tennis Live gathered that the youngsters who have been in the Nigerian ‘State of Harmony’ since last weekend, are poised to showcase their talents at the fourth edition of the competition which is a breeding ground for future athletes.

Gabriel Inyang is one of the players to watch out for at the Youth Games in Ilorin.

Reports say while Oiza will be representing Delta State at the championship, the relentless Gabriel will spar for his home state, Akwa Ibom, in the U-15 categories. It was also reliably gathered that Fortune Joseph will be representing Delta at the Games.

Oiza, a southpaw, is one of the silent achievers in the Nigerian junior tennis circuit, having successfully competed in age grades above hers, defeating bigger players in the process; while Gabriel has stunned bookmakers to make Nigeria tennis followers proud, especially outside the country.

Both of them will be hoping to give a good account of themselves when they compete against their counterparts from other states in the weeklong event.

As at the time of compiling this report, details of their fixtures had not been made public, but Nigerian Tennis Live can report that the tournament which had the opening ceremony on Sunday, will come alive on Monday.

Reports from the competition and other updates will be duly made for our teeming followers to see how their favourite youngsters progress in the tournament.
