    Vemp Open: Enosoregbe To Wrestle Shehu Lawal For Second Round Ticket

    The inaugural edition of the Vemp Open Tennis Championship presently taking place in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital, is getting exciting with some very interesting fixtures in the first round of the competition.

    Nigerian Tennis Live can report that the tournament which is being played by all of Nigeria’s top players, in one to watch out for, especially with the pairings as obtained by our correspondent.

    The likes of Joseph Imeh, Abdulmumin Babalola, Christian Paul, Sylvester Emmanuel, Clifford Enosoregbe Thomas Otu, Uche Oparaoji, among others, are presently in Abuja, slugging it out with their counterparts.

    Clifford Enosoregbe is likely to come out tops in his match against Shehu Lawal at the Vemp Open competition in Abuja.

    And one of the tough pairings for the day is the match between former Champions; Enosoregbe and Shehu Lawal.

    Tennis followers and observers will agree that apart from age being on his side, Edo-born Enosoregbe has come out victorious in most of the recent fixtures between the pair, and he will fancy his chances against one of Nigeria’s finest in the game.

    Top seeds like Imeh, Babalola, Sylvester, Otu may not find it difficult to advance to the second round, though, as they have relatively easy opponents to tackle.

    The Vemp Open which is said to attract national ranking points, kicked off on Monday, 3 September, and is expected to climax on Saturday, 8 September inside the Tennis Section of the National Stadium in Abuja.

    Nigerian Tennis Live will keep following the championship which is expected to become an annual event, and report all the juicy news from there.
