After her first leg triumph at the ITF World Junior Circuit taking place in Togo, Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadri seeks to continue her winning streak in the second leg with her first match against India’s Ruju Chauhan.

The Nigerian superstar was in a breathtaking fashion during the first leg of the tournament which was held in Ghana last week, defeating a tough Egyptian player in the final set to return to the pinnacle of junior tennis for the first time in months.

And after that all-important win by the lady fondly called Oyin by her friends, she is set to consolidate with her second round match against Chauhan and find her way to the pinnacle yet again.

Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadri is on the move again at the ITF Junior Circuit in Togo. She won the first leg in Ghana.

Another female player in the second round of the tournament is Mariam Alli, who is set to trade tackles with Smriti Bhasin, the tournament’s number eight seed, who is also from India.

In the boys’ category, Abayomi Phillips, Matthew Abamu, Emmanuel Jebutu, Emmanuel Chinedu and Wilson Igbinovia are all in contention for Junior ITF points.

Even though they didn’t achieve as much as they would have loved to, Phillips was Nigeria’s brightest male player in the Ghanaian leg of the tournament, as he won the doubles final. He partnered South Africa’s Malope Lethabo to defeat the Ghanaian pair of Benjamin Palm and Ronald Totimeh in a tight final, winning 6-4, 4-6, 10-8.

Phillips will be looking forward to another exciting outing in Togo after the first leg triumph in the team event.

Nigerian Tennis Live will keep monitoring the players’ performances and keep pur esteemed readers and followers updated.
