After Nigeria’s adventure at the Davis Cup tournament in Kenya, a team of Nigerian players led by top Junior star, Oyinlomo Quadri, have traveled to Tunisia for the Fed Cup competition, which is meant for only girls.

Nigerian Tennis Live gathered on Monday, 25 June, that the contingent which was taken to Tunisia by respected junior tennis coach, Margaret Oladunjoye safely arrived their base in the north African country.

The players who traveled to Tunisia consist of Quadri, Omolayo Bamidele, Rebecca Ekpeyong in the U-16 cadre while Serena Teluwo, Iye Onoja and Mary Udoffa, will lead Nigeria’s charge for glory in the U-14 category.

Oyinlomo Quadri is expected to shine for Nigeria at the tournament presently taking place in Tunisia.

When action commences on Tuesday, 26 June, Nigeria will be hoping to go one better than the performance at the last competition where a back injury prevented Quadri from performing to her very best at the last edition of the tournament.

Nigerian Tennis Live recalls that although the girls were defeated by most of their opponents at the last tournament, they made sure they did not leave Tunisia without inflicting pains on their South African opponent.

With the players now more exposed and having trained hard ahead of this tournament, they are expected to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians who will be rooting for them even though all eyes will be on the 2018 CBN Open championship which is taking place in Abuja.

Our correspondent will keep an eye on the players and their performance in Tunisia and report to our readers accordingly.
