US-based Nigerian tennis wonderkid, Marylove Edwards has kept the country’s flag flying outside the country as she has kept warming hearts with splendid performances at each tournament she participates in.

The most outstanding junior female player at the 2017 NCC Tennis League proved  handful for her counterparts whom she met at the junior Orange Bowl tennis championship presently taking place in Miami.

Marylove Edwards is all smiles at the Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship

In the two matches she has played so far, the Nigerian star has defeated Russian and American opponents in two straight sets and is poised to meet American number seven seed, Priya Nelson.

In her first match, she defeated Stanislava Saveleva 6-0, 6-1 and sent Elisabeth Dunac packing with an impressive 6-2, 6-0 win on Thursday.

With this development, Edwards who is on a four year deal at the Nick Bolleteri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida on the bills of the Temple Management Company (TMC), may cause an unprecedented upset in the girls’ U-12 category.

Nigerian Tennis Live will keep monitoring updates from the tournament and update our followers with the youngster’s progress in the championship.
