Junior ITF Circuit: Against All Odds, Nigeria’s Bulus Qualifies For Doubles Final

After his scintillating performances in the Singles event at the ongoing Junior ITF Circuit in Lome, Togo, Christopher Bulus has made it to the final of the Doubles event, Nigerian Tennis Live can authoritatively report.

Bulus, who, alongside his partner, Darrshan Suresh, is the top seed in the team event, defeated the Togolese pair of Kodjo Charles Alipoe-Tchotchodji and Sewa Jacques Sewavi-Mensah 6-2, 6-2 to qualify for an unprecedented final.

With this result, Bulus now shoulders the responsibility of ensuring that Nigeria wins another final at the ITF-rated championship, as well as boost his rankings when they are released at the end of the tournament.

Bulus is poised to lead Nigeria to glory when he plays the team event final later today.

The 2017 Senior CBN Open quarterfinalist who is seeded three for the final leg of the three-week long ‘junior’ Futures, will believe that he can win the Singles final as he takes on Sylvestre Monnou the number six seed in the tournament.

In the Doubles final to be decided today, Bulus and his partner will tackle the French pair of Hugo Jardin and Raphael Perot who have themselves been very spectacular in the team event throughout the tournament.

The boys’ Singles final will be decided on Saturday and the awards ceremony will take place immediately afterwards.

Whether Bulus wins either or both of the finals or not, he already has a podium place finish which will not only boost his confidence, but also add to his already swelling ranking points which rose to 621 after his final feat in the second leg of the Junior Circuit.
