EXCLUSIVE: TMC Reveals What Winning Her First Tournament Will Do To Marylove

Temple Management Company (TMC), the company responsible for the sponsorship of talented Nigerian tennis player, Marylove Edwards, has expressed great delight at her progress after winning her first tournament in less than a month at the Nick Bolleteri Tennis Academy, Bradenton, Florida.

The Nigerian U-14 champion won the USTA Celsius Level 6 girls’ 14 & Under tournament at the first time of calling, a feat which her management company finds really impressive.

In a chat with Nigerian Tennis Live, Koye Sowemimo, the Head of Sports at the TMC, noted that winning the tournament is a massive confidence boost for the player, especially because she had barely settled down before winning the championship.

Marylove will definitely be rated among tennis greats within a short period of time.

He said: “Winning her first tournament is a great confidence boost. We at Temple Management Company are delighted as we have so much belief in her.

“She has settled well at the IMG Academy and is learning from her coaches on how to continuously improve.”

Asked what the latest development means to the management company, Sowemimo gladly pointed out the fact that, “the win is just part of her story towards a successful career in the sport and as we have done from day one, we shall continue giving her all the support required.”

Even though Marylove was expected to win tournaments in the United States, many would have expected her to stay for maybe a year or half before achieving this, but she managed this within a month of her stay in the Academy.

TMC’s Head of Sports said of Marylove that: “For anyone relocating, it’s always going to be difficult for them to find their feet but Marylove has a real winning spirit about her.

“Any tournament she plays in, we always have the belief that she will win it and this tournament was no different.

“It’s more about her and how she prepared ahead of the tournament that led her to victory.”
