The newly-elected members of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) have been inaugurated in Abuja, Naija Tennis Special has gathered.

According to information made available to our correspondent, the accreditation started at about noon and the new members were inaugurated later in the day at the Tennis Secretariat in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital.

Dayo Akindoju, the new-NTF president, is believed to have the midas touch to restructure tennis in Nigeria.

Dayo Akindoju, who emerged as the president of the federation in June’s election, told Naija Tennis Special in an exclusive interview, that the task ahead of the board is enormous, like starting tennis all over again.

But the man who succeeded Engr. Sani Ndanusa had not been given the official go ahead with the task ahead of him as he rightly pointed out. However, that has changed from today as the inauguration has empowered him and his team to work effectively.

Henceforth, the board alongside every stakeholder in Nigerian tennis now have the autonomy to move the sport forward in the country.

The players, coaches, umpires, other administrators, among other tennis enthusiasts will be keen to find out how the newly-elected board members will function as against their predecessors.
