Reports from the camp of Team Nigeria to the forthcoming Commonwealth Games have it that Christopher Itodo will replace Christopher Bulus on the train to the tournament that takes place once in four months.

According to Coach Ubale Mohammed, who spoke with Naija Tennis Special from the team’s camp, Bulus had to go and write an examination, and had to be exempted from the trip altogether.

Chris Bulus will not be available for this year’s Commonwealth Games as he has to write his exams.

He explained, however, that: “Itodo, Adetunji, Angel is here and will be traveling but not sure if she’ll be participating.

“I am monitoring Adetayo Adetunji who is in Canada and she is doing very well in training. Itodo and Angel are here with me so I can tell you that we are doing just fine.”
On the players’ preparedness ahead of the competition, Ubale informed that he believes in the players that are going to represent the country at the tournament as they have proven in the trainings over the past few weeks.

“I am happy with the players’ feedback in training and I believe we can get something meaningful out of the Commonwealth Games,” he stated.
Nigeria’s participation in the championship will mark a return to the tournament after an eight-year absence from the event and the players will be hoping to prove that the absence has reinvigorated the country’s tennis development and competitiveness.
