The two Nigerian tennis players in today’s tennis fixtures will have their hands full when hostilities resume in less than an hour, Naija Tennis Special can authoritatively report.

Sylvester Emmanuel, who happens to be Nigeria’s highest ranked player coming into the competition, will battle tournament’s number three seed, Bega Alessandro from Italy in one of the early fixtures of the day.

Sylvester Emmanuel faces a tough battle in reaching the semi final target he set for himself.

The Nigerian tennis star popularly referred to as Major by admirers and close friends had set a semi-final target for himself in the event that he does not win the tournament, and will have the true test of his prowess when he faces the player ranked 311 in the world.

In another tough encounter for a Nigerian, Emmanuel Emeruwa, who made it to the tournament’s main draw through the Wild Card qualification series, will have Benjamin Lock from Zimbabwe to contend with.

Lock is the number seven seed of the tournament and will also pose a great threat to the Nigerian player’s chances of advancing to the second round of the competition.

Naija Tennis Special will bring you up to speed with the latest developments from the tournament as the boys are being separated from the men.
