Nigeria’s highest ranked player at the Tombim Abuja ITF Futures, Sylvester Emmanuel, has set his sights on the highest price at the championship.

Sylvester, who recently breezed into the country from Barcelona, Spain, where he has been training for the past three months, told Naija Tennis Special that he wants to win at least, one of the three ITF Futures.

Major is battle ready for the ITF Futures in Abuja, and has vowed to win at least, one of them.

According to the young tennis star popularly known and addressed as Major by his friends and fans: “If I don’t get to win any of the tournaments, I should at least get to the semis of any of them.

“That is the only way I can be happy with myself for coming all the way from Barcelona for the tournaments.

“But let’s see how it goes, because everybody coming here is also coming for the title.”

Other top Nigerian stars in the Main Draw of the tournament’s first leg include former Nigerian number one player, Clifford Enosoregbe and Joseph Imeh, another former junior champion.

No fewer than four other Nigerian players will get Wild Cards to participate in the tournament’s first leg apart from the players who will try their luck from the qualifying rounds.

Naija Tennis Special will bring you updates from the tournament as it progresses.
