Nigerian stars playing on day 2 of the first round in the Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis Championship will not have it rosy by any means, Naija Tennis Special can authoritatively report.

Some of their counterparts enjoyed significant victories on the first day of the second leg, but the draw does not seem to favour those playing on the second day.

Thomas Otu partners a veteran player to play in the doubles.

Henry Atseye will have hinds full with the encounter against number two seed Hemery Calvin from France in the first match of the day while Davidovich Fokina, Alejandro from Spain will tackle Nigeria’s Edward Christopher.

Christian Paul will also face another top seed, Mina Gianni from France while the biggest threat to another Nigerian advancing to the second round is a certain Lopez-Perez Enrique from Spain who is ranked among the top 100 in the world; he plays against Umaru Balami.

In the doubles Atseye and Clifford Enosoregbe will tackle the pair of Echargui, Moez from Tunisia and Mamooun Karim-Mohammed from Egypt. Edward and Balami will also square up to trade tackles against Calvin and Gianni.

Veteran tennis player, Destiny Ford-Da Silva will partner Otu Thomas to take on Filenkov Alexei from Russia and Mukund Sasi Kumar from India.
