Nigeria’s Murewa Egbeyemi was outstanding when he played an U-16 tournament in the United Kingdom and won the competition in an emphatic manner.
The Heritage Tennis Club youngster who moved to the United Kingdom a while ago, was an unseeded player at the tournament described as being ‘tough’ even for the U-16 players.
However, the 13-year-old made showed the stuff he is made of by going all the way to defeat Elijah Killen Smith, the tournament’s number three seed, in the final.

Thus, Egbeyemi, whom Nigeria Tennis Live gathered had also won other U-18 championships in the United Kingdom, emerged winner of the Tennis Leicestershire Summer Open tournament.
His excite dad who shared the news with our correspondent, noted that the youngster narrowly missed a tennis Europe championship and had to settle for the U-16 event.
He explained that while the competition he just won is also huge, stating that it is: “Equally as intense as Tennis Europe with the same ranking points if he wins or gets to final.”
“He won. He saved five match points, unbelievable!!!” the ecstatic father told our correspondent after the youngster won the Grade 3 U-16 tournament.
