Nigeria’s only player on the ATP ranking, Christopher Bulus, will be among the first round of matches at the National Sports Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Bulus, representing Ogun State, got a bye in the first round and will be playing against Folorunsho Ayomide, from Kwara State in the fifth match of the day.

All eyes will be on the Rainoil Tennis Championship winner to make his mark during the eight-day event holding inside the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta.

Also, US-based Oiza Yakubu, another player representing the home State, will come up against Benue State’s Iorlumun Mary.

Nigerians will also be keen on seeing the Invited Junior Athletes (IJA), representing the federal government, in action during the quadrennial event.

The quartet of Amir Mohammed, Goodnews Aina, Bright Emmanuel and Gbolahan Lawal will be taking on Charles Uwandu (Enugu), Loveth Ogah (Nasarawa), Faith Sunday (FCT) and Jeremiah Benjamin (Lagos) respectively.

Matches are expected to serve off by 9am on Wednesday, 21 May, 2025, inside the tennis section of the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
